Hermit Crab Bottle Opener | Bronze & Copper & 925 Sterling SilverRegular price $149.00
Animals are designers wandering in nature and give us unlimited inspiration. We combine a unique perspective with traditional craftsmanship. Creativity gives nature a newborn and decorates life with spirituality.
We designed a unique bottle opener based on the hermit crab. These strange and beautiful creatures live mainly in muddy seabeds or on land in tree caves or under rocky ledges. They have a hard exoskeleton at the front of their body and two pairs of antennae in front. Without a shell, hermit crabs have a soft, collapsed body with no surface protection, so they need to find themselves a sturdy shell to survive in the harsh natural environment. They usually have curled tails with hooks. These tails allow them to live more easily and firmly in the empty shells of other creatures.
The most difficult part of the design and production process was how to combine the external form of the hermit crab to make it a qualified bottle opener. We kept adjusting the angle of the hermit crab's two cheeks and the snap of the conch, which took three months to complete this extremely silky bottle opener. The starfish is set on the shell of the conch as an embellishment, which is both functional and beautiful.
The body of the conch is made of bronze and the hermit crab and star fish are made of copper. To make the whole product more realistic, the eyes of the hermit crab are embellished with 925 sterling silver. Different materials have different melting points, which makes this piece even more challenging to make. Each piece is handcrafted by our skilled artisans. Therefore, it is not only a practical tool in your life, but also a collectible piece of art.
