The stag beetle. Its name comes from the large and distinctive mandibles located at the front of the body of the male of the species resembling stag antlers. They’re so strong that if we should pick one up, it can pinch us with them hard enough for us to bleed.
The purpose of these mandibles, as with antlers, is for fighting. During an altercation over females, the stag beetle will use its mandibles to dislodge and throw its opponent with significant force.
Now, these unique-looking creatures have been recreated as a hand-crafted bottle openers. The large mandibles, so good for dislodging opponents with brute force, can now be used to dislodge your bottle lids with the same gusto.
