Huang Zhong is a magnetic articulated figure: 21 independent metal parts that snap together into the veteran general of Shu Han, 2.12 in / 54 mm tall, 1.41 in / 36 mm wide and 3.17 oz / 90 g. This edition is cast in bronze, copper and white bronze, so the armour, the fur collar and the cape read in separate tones, and the base kit is the figure with its Qilin Bow, quiver and one arrow.

He belongs to the Eastern Soldier Collection of magnetic soldiers. On this figure the winged Heaven's Mantle is not compatible, while Pumpkin Head, Grin Demon Head, Heroic Steed and Heroic Steed Aegis Armor are; the horse is a separate piece, so the Standard style does not include it. Up to 20 characters can be engraved on the back plate.

About the Design

Old in years, sharp as ever. Four metals — bronze, copper, white bronze and brass — separate the lamellar plates, the fur collar and the flowing cape, so the Phoenix-Wing helmet and the upturned battle boots each keep their own tone. The right rear hip carries the mounting point for the detachable quiver, and the Qilin Bow, quiver and arrow all come off the figure for display or for the hand of another general.

Compatibility

Accessories are shared across the magnetic soldier range, but each figure is sculpted differently, so not every piece fits Huang Zhong. The winged Heaven's Mantle does not fit him. Pumpkin Head, Grin Demon Head, Heroic Steed and Heroic Steed Aegis Armor all do. The horse is a separate piece: the Standard style is the figure with its bow, quiver and one arrow only.

How many arrows does the quiver hold? One. The quiver is 1.02 in / 26 mm tall and, because of scale and structural limitations, it holds only a single 1.73 in / 44 mm arrow.

Does Huang Zhong come with the horse? No. The Standard style is the figure, Qilin Bow, quiver and one arrow. Heroic Steed is a separate compatible piece and is only in the box with the With Heroic Steed or With Heroic Steed Set style.

What is the difference between the Four Generals and Five Generals Set? The Four Generals Set bundles Huang Zhong with Zhang Fei, Guan Yu and Zhao Yun. The Five Generals Set adds Lü Bu to that group.

Can the bow be bought on its own? Yes. The Qilin Bow Only style on this page is the bow, quiver and arrow without the figure.

Which gemstone sits in the chest? A stone is set into the breastplate. The default is yellow cubic zirconia, and six other colours can be chosen: black zirconia, green agate, amethyst, turquoise, garnet or blue zirconia.
