The Calappa (smooth box crab) gets its name from its distinctly bulky shell, which is shaped like a box. The Calappa's claws are usually placed near their face, making them look shy, which is why they are also called shy crabs, mask crabs, and shame-faced crabs.
When danger rears its head, the Calappa is known for sticking close to its partner. The mated pair will cling together as they try to escape rather than scatter and lose each other. Its need to guard and protect its loved ones is one that we can understand, making the crab so much more endearing to us.
At the same time, this adorable creature is the perfect decorative piece to have in your life. We wanted our product to be as helpful as it is beautiful, so we've built this piece with storage in mind. Keep your change or special items safe within its rounded Brass body.
The entire back, pincers, and legs of this piece are well-defined but soft to the touch and not prickly, making them feel great in hand. The front of the crab shell has a built-in magnet that can be used to help keep your items safely tucked inside. **Each of our pieces is handmade, we will send them out from our Asian studio when the local warehouses are out of stock. Any questions,please feel free to contact us at any time.
You orders will be delivered by a courier Monday to Friday.Please allow extra time for your order to be processed during public holidays and sale periods. Customs and Postal Service may also require extra time to work on the processing / delivery during peak season or before major festivals. Please also note that delays may occur as a result of pending payment authorizations.

Shipping Fees:
We provide free delivery for orders exceeding $129. For orders below $129, our standard shipping fee is $9.9. An extra $12.99 shipping fee is applicable to the following regions or countries: Saudi Arabia, Norway, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Switzerland, Russia, and Puerto Rico (USA)
Taxes, Customs Duties:
Normally the priced shown on our pages is already inclusive import duties. No additional taxes or customs duties are collected.
Unfortunately, we have no control over taxes as customs policies vary by country. Any import duties and taxes are charged once the parcel has reached the destination country and these charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Late or lost orders
When placing your order please make sure that you specify the correct delivery address as Coppertist.wu take no responsibility for missing parcels that have been sent to the wrong address or if requested to leave with neighbour or an outbuilding.
Any order discrepancies relating to missing and/or lost items must be reported to us in writing via email at [email protected]. We cannot refund or replace lost items until 20 working days after the date of despatch (25 working days for international items).
Items not received but tracking shows they have been delivered
This may happen when items are sent to places of work. In some cases, your item might have been delivered to a post room or colleague within your company and someone else will have signed for it.
Please note we do not refund or replace items that are tracked as being delivered. For this reason, we always recommend that you get items delivered to a secure address.
Why was my order cancelled?
If your order was unexpectedly cancelled, chances are that our fraud filter marked your order as fraudulent. If you are sure that that is not the case, please ensure the billing address matches the payment method you are using, and checkout again. Alternatively, please order again with a Paypal account. The magnet closure is super weak . So if you plan to carry it around in your bag the top opens up all the time and the coins will all over your bag . Contacted the company and let me rephrase their word . “This product is designed more for aesthetic appeal than functionality. You can place it on a table for use, which is considered normal for this type of item”. So yes ! This is a desk decoration .

absolutely adorable peekaboo crab keepsake box. I now keep special items of jewellery in it. The craftsmanship is phenomenal and attention to detail is superb. Came carefully packaged in gift box and wrapped in cloth pouch. I would highly recommend.

Incredible little piece of art. I have been wanting this little guy for a long time. Very sturdy construction and amazing detail. These crabs are hilarious in nature anyway and this captures them perfectly. I might use to store a special ring, but I’m happy to just look at it’s little face next on my bookshelf. Will be purchasing more items as soon as I can.
